❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What is Smart Kid IQ?

Smart Kid IQ is a free online brain quiz and games platform designed for children aged 6 to 14. It features 971 educational questions covering maths, science, logic, riddles, spatial reasoning, geography, and more — plus five free brain games including Tic Tac Toe, 9×9 Sudoku, Word Find, Memory Match, and Maths Blast.

Is Smart Kid IQ free to use?

Yes — completely free! There is no subscription, no sign-up, no login, and no download required. Simply open the website on any phone, tablet, or computer and start playing immediately. Every quiz, every game, every feature is 100% free.

What age group is the quiz designed for?

The quiz is designed for children aged 6 to 14 years old. Before the quiz begins, you can select your age group (6–8, 9–11, or 12–14) and the questions are matched to the right level of difficulty. Younger children get more straightforward questions, while older children face genuinely challenging brain-teasers.

How is the IQ score calculated?

At the end of the 20-question quiz, your score is converted into an estimated IQ score ranging from 70 (just starting out) to 145 (ultimate genius). This is an educational, motivational score — not a certified clinical IQ assessment. It is designed to be encouraging and to improve as children practise more. The seven IQ levels are: Just Starting (70–79), Good Thinker (80–89), Smart Cookie (90–99), Sharp Mind (100–109), Super Brain (110–119), Mega Genius (120–134), and Ultimate Genius (135–145).

What topics are covered in the IQ quiz?

The Smart IQ Quiz covers 11 different topic areas: Logical Reasoning, Number Patterns, Maths Problems, Science Facts, Riddles, Verbal Reasoning, Spatial Thinking, Word Play, Memory Challenges, Creative Thinking, and General Knowledge. The World Capitals quiz mode covers all 195 countries and their capital cities — a great geography revision tool!

What brain games are available?

Smart Kid IQ has five free brain games: (1) Tic Tac Toe — play against an unbeatable computer AI or a friend; (2) 9×9 Sudoku — the full classic number puzzle with Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty levels; (3) Word Find — spot hidden words in a 10×10 letter grid across 4 themes with 5 word sets each; (4) Memory Match — flip emoji cards and find all 8 matching pairs; (5) Maths Blast — answer as many mental maths questions as you can in 60 seconds.

Is it safe for children? Is personal data collected?

Smart Kid IQ is designed with children's safety as the top priority. We do not collect any personal data from children. No name, email address, location, or identifying information is ever requested or stored. The site has no chat features, no social elements, and no user-generated content. Any adverts shown are non-personalised, child-safe, and compliant with COPPA and UK GDPR. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Can I use Smart Kid IQ in school or at home?

Absolutely! Smart Kid IQ is used by children both at home and in school settings. Teachers can use the quiz as a warm-up activity, a revision tool, or a mental maths starter. Parents can encourage children to play as part of a daily learning routine. We recommend 15–30 minutes per day for the best results. Read our full Brain Training Guide for tips on how to get the most out of the site.

How can I improve my score?

The best way to improve is to play regularly! Read the explanation shown after each question — even when you get the answer right. Try all three quiz modes (Smart IQ, World Capitals, Non-Verbal Reasoning) as they build different skills. Play the brain games too — Sudoku builds logical thinking, Maths Blast builds number speed, and Memory Match strengthens working memory. Visit our Brain Training Guide for science-backed tips on improving memory, maths, and logical reasoning.
